The college caters for a wide range of sports, both outdoor and indoor. Teams from the college participate local, provincial, national and inter-school competitions and our students have represented Ireland in many differing international competitions.

Athletics Each year, students represent the college in cross-country and track and field events. Students receive coaching on a regular basis and with the running track beside the school this is very popular. |  |
Badminton At lunch time, students may play badminton and receive coaching. Inter-class competitions are run off.

Basketball Each year teams from the school compete in competition both for boys and girls from Junior to Senior.

Teams from the start participate at U-14, U-16 and U-18 age group levels. Both boys and girls are encouraged to get involved.

Hockey Hockey teams represent the school at all levels both boys and girls.

Teams from the start participate at U-14, U-16 and U-18 age group levels. Both boys and girls are encouraged to get involved.

Soccer
The college enters teams at U-14, U-16 and U-18 age group levels. Boys and girls teams are entered. During the year, inter-class indoor soccer competitions are run off. The staff soccer team also play in league and cup competitions and play the senior student teams each summer term - with much success!

Rugby
Senior, Junior and Girl's rugby teams are affliated to the Leinster Branch of the IRFU. Boy's Senior and Junior teams play in the 'A' Development Cup and 3rds league section. An 1st year/U-14 team has also started.

We also take part in the NUI Maynooth School's Cup (final playoffs 2008) and lost the final of the inaugral North Kildare Junior Blitz in 2006. Training every Tuesday and Thursday at 4pm. Local Youth Development Officers from Barnhall, NUIM and North Kildare regurlarly help Mr Purcell, Mr Morrissey.

Girl's Rugby is now in its third season with Ireland Women's team captain, Leinster player and school PE teacher, Ms Fiona Coughlan, taking charge. Training Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Girl's teams play in the Leinster league and blitz competitions.

Annual Sports Day
Each year our Sports Day happens in early May. It is both a fun day out for all 1st and 2nd years but also have a highly competitive nature. The PE department along with the Gluais members run the day. Activities such as basketball, soccer, high jump, sprints, middle distance and class relays races along with fun events make this day a great day for all students involved. Medals are presented to the best sports man and woman in each year and also to the best class at the awards day.
