Congratulations to the Junior Cycle class of 2024 who received their results on Wednesday 9th October. There was great excitement in the gym as students gathered with year head, tutors and support staff to open their results. Our students are now immersing themselves in a very active TY programme and trying new experiences and learning new skills that they will take into senior cycle and future life. While we celebrate the achievements of all of our students, special mention goes to some of our top achieving students including: Oluwamodupe Osinuga, Rachel Jez, Aisling Fleming, Sadhbh Lynch, Piotr Majchrzak, Naomi Darcy, Ben Ahuja, Ellen Birnie, Niclolas Lefter, Holly Murray and Daniel Inceu.
The percentage of Lucan CC students taking Higher Level subjects Irish, English and Maths continues to be well above the national average with our Engineering students achieving more than double the amount of Distinctions and Higher Merits than the national average and Graphics students achieving over four times the number of Distinctions than the national average. Student results surpassed the national average in a number of other subjects also.
Year Head Ms McKelvey, tutors and support staff along with the school management team offered congratulations to the students and thanks to all staff members and parents who support them so far on their educational journey. Ms McKelvey congratulated students saying that they can be very proud of themselves. Ms McKelvey and link Deputy Principal Mr McGowan wished them well as they celebrate with friends and family. The Principal Ms Birnie stated how proud she is of the students for the great foundation they have built over the last three years to provide a sold base for their learning in senior cycle.
A very proud day for Lucan CC!
